First, a review as part of their “3 Guys and the Quest for the Holy Fail” review series: basically, they hunt for rare, cult, low-budget movies and try to find the worse movie of all time… luckily for us, Slimed caught them by surprise and they ended up totally loving it.
REVIEW HERE!
They followed that up with an informative and enlightening interview with Jeff and I -
And finally – a podcast where they heap on the Slimed love and discuss how Slimed is a perfect example of low-budget Florida filmmaking done well:

We just wanted to give everyone head’s up that Slimed has FINALLY been listed back on IMDB properly. As some of you might know we had some “technical” difficulties with IMDB in the past few months… and by technical difficulties I mean IMDB hosted our film for a year then deleted it, then wouldn’t put it back up after months of resubmission, then FINALLY put it back up with mostly incorrect information, and then after even more resubmission they finally got pretty much everything up and corrected.

So…whew… IMDB is a great site, and an essential tool for life, and after all their system is designed to keep out any old crappy youtube blog confession from getting listed… BUT FOR SALLY’S SAKE- they do NOT make it easy to prove you’re not just some crappy blog confession and are an actual movie that played festivals and has a dvd for sale… you’ve got to submit PROOF, and urine samples, and write an essay about your favorite kind of dog breed, and then pass a physical, and sing an opera, and climb a smooth cliff face with nothing but a bar of soap etc.

(As a side note, ironically, their criteria does allow for crappy video blog confessions to get listed, as long as they are of “public interest…”) Well, we are proud to finally Slime our way legitimately onto IMDB. So feel free to leave your reviews or submit corrections for mistakes if you spot them. Here’s the link!

Just when you thought it was safe go to the movie theaters- SLIMED has been accepted in its first film festival! We will be screening at the Boston Underground Film Festival at 3:00pm Friday March 26, 2010 at the Kendall Square Cinema. We were so excited to receive news of our acceptance that we were jumping up and down in the backyard and Jeff jumped onto a rusty nail and had to drive to the clinic to get a tetanus shot. True story. If you’re going to be in Boston when it’s playing, then come out and show your support for Slimed! Jeff and Eric will be there as well as their two lead actors/geniuses Jordan Lee and Dustin Triplett. We must give a special thanks to Bryan Papciak (from Boston’s Handcranked Productions), a king amongst mortals, for sharing Slimed with the festival director. This will be the finished film’s WORLD PREMIER and it will be blasted in all it’s glory on the big screen for all to see. BUFF is an awesome alternative festival, specializing in playing the weirdest, most offensive and generally bizarre films they can get their hands on – Slimed should be in good company. Tickets are $10 dollars or $8 is you have a student ID.

Slimed is on DVD! They’re ready to go out the door and we’ve fixed them up all nice and fancy with a full hour of bonus features and Walmart-style pricing for the poor and hungry… and in this economic apocalypse, what more could you ask for?

Just to lay out the DVD features…

-“The Trek to Devilman” is a 5 minute deleted scene that actually had its origins at the 20 minute middle of the movie. As Rock and Pepe leave the cabin and set out on their journey, we originally had a full scene of character development, origin stories and a musical number about Space Turkeys. We eventually realized that character development is overrated in a movie about killer toxic slime, and decided to turn it into a 5 minute montage of sight gags and painful non sequiturs that illustrated Rock and Pepe’s path to friendship. A lot of people said this scene was their favorite part of the movie… and then we cut it. Oops.

-Uncut “Clean-O” Tests – Similar to the Clean-O tests scene that’s in the movie except there’s more blood, more mouse, and most importantly – more death (featuring a whole new death scene).

-Bloopers – 20 minutes of the best scew-ups, missteps, curse words and accidental bodily harm we had on tape. Making a movie is hard when you have no money or stunt doubles.

- Original Director’s Sketch – Before we made the movie, Jeff and I made a little video sketch where we played Rock and Pepe. It was because of this that we found actors with experience. We offer this to the public with the most sincere apologies and regrets.

- Deleted/Alternate Scenes – you know…

All this for 9.99… the cost of a live chicken. And which would you rather put in a DVD player?

BUY DVD HERE!

A search of “Slimed” in their search engine still lists Ghostbusters 2 as the top hit which is truly disappointing. That movie totally ripped us off. We did the killer toxic slime wave first and with more gusto than they ever had.

Also – DVDs on the way… we got a bundle of extras we’re gonna slap on – 15 minutes of expletive-laden bloopers that are “funnier than the actual movie” (a quote by our loving housemate Ben Powell, who has seen the movie just about as many times as Jeff and I), deleted scenes (including the 10 minute Walking Montage: a series of absurd outdoor sketches featuring Rock and Pepe), character illustrations, commentary and the original cabin scene as acted by Jeff and I to the best of our abilities in a Providence living room. Should be fun for the whole family. We’ll have more news on the DVD in the near future.
